WHO WE ARE AND HOW WE GOT HERE!
I joined Twitter in 2012, this was mainly because I was working in lifelong learning sector and I wanted to promote the work I was doing. I quickly gathered followers in this field and realised the power of social media.
I became recognised for my work in my field and was asked to attend conferences and breakout sessions to help people find out how to use do social media successfully.

By the end of 2013 the funding for the work I was doing had finished, and I was left with an account of 1700 followers. I decided to start promoting the island I love Anglesey.

At this point Twitter was very quiet and then island that little or no fibre broadband. I quickly gathered more followers and was recognised for the work I was doing to promote the island. At present the total number of followers is just over 42,000.
​
I realised in late 2014 that I was missing a large sector of the social media community – Facebook. Applying lessons learned from my Twitter account I soon start gathering followers on that page too.
In the last year I managed to gather a total of nearly 17,000 followers on my Facebook page too making me by far the largest social media account in the area.
